Ne-Yo teams up with his fellow Compound Ent. proteges RaVaughn Brown and Candice Boyd as they touch on the risk of starting to fall for a friend/homie in new release “More Than I Should”.
In this track, all three artists discuss their personal experiences as they look to their friend/homie for advice on their current relationship going sour when they start realizing they like them more than just a friend.
“But suddenly, lately and suddenly / I been noticing how pretty you really are / Just how sexy and stylish your clothes be / Not even my lady knows me like you know me / But damn you just my homie / But I love the way you hold me, down / Shouldn’t be feeling how I’m feeling right now / Cause you got me liking way more than I should,” Ne-Yo sings.
Later in the song, the two R&B songstresses RaVaughn and Candice speak on their experiences from a female perspective when Brown sings: “And now I’m feeling filthy / When I didn’t know her it was something else / But now I’m feeling all guilty / Cause she cool as hell but I still find myself / Liking you way more than I should.
The R&B Gentleman has been keeping his promise to his fans as this new release follows up the two previous when he had a little fun remixing Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE.” a few weeks ago and dropping the honest “Earn You Love” last week.
As we await his forthcoming album which doesn’t have a title yet but is planned on being released this year, check out Ne-Yo’s latest release “More Than I Should” assisted by the lovely RaVaughn and Candice Boyd.
