Fresh off of his NYC show at the Highline Ballroom on Tuesday (Feb. 28th), Ro James stops by The Breakfast Club the next morning to give them a bit of insight on his journey thus far.
The interview first kicked off with Angela explaining she first heard of Ro and his hit single “Permission” and the concept behind it. They next touched on where he came from and how his family helped influence him from his father being a pastor to his Aunt singing with Prince.
As the show went on, the R&B crooner discussed the R&B culture from sub-topics like how it has changed, people saying R&B is dead, and how his style and sound lead to him getting signed.
During the second half of the show, Ro went on to talk about his past relationship, nominated for a Grammy, touring with Erykah Badu, Maxwell & Mary J. Blige, than going into his own XIX Tour.
