Happy Music Friday! Eric Bellinger is giving us an early Spring as he releases new island vibe EP Term 2 following up his previous Hip-Hop inspired Eric B. For President: Term 1.
Unlike the previous Bellinger doesn’t get political as he heads back to his R&B roots in this project while tapping into some Reggae, Dancehall, and Bossa-Nova inspired vibes. This project features appearances from Wale (“Treat Yourself”), Victoria Monet, Elhae, and Tayla Parx.
Eric explains: “The vibe for Term 2 is island-y, fit for a tropical vacation. When Obama left office, he went jet-skiing on vacation. I’m taking that approach to give a sense of relaxation and chill and positive vibes in light of the new presidency. It’s a dark time, so I wanted to take the opposite approach and make something light and fun. Term 1 had the hip-hop approach with the reference to Eric B and Rakim, but for this one, I wanted to go back to my R&B roots.”
The new project is available on all digital media outlets! Take a listen to it below:
